BIOGRAPHY:

Foundations for VII Arcano were laid in 1989, when Roberto Cufaro formed the first nucleus under the name of Sepolcrum. The arrival of bass player Marco Montagna (the only remaining original member today, now covering heavy guitar duties) saw the band in the studio for some Death Metal/Doom oriented demo tapes, which led to the 7" "Gather My Blood Forever" (released in 1994) under the newfound moniker VII Arcano. A second chapter came later when a definitive singer was found in the person of Mirko Scarpa. VII Arcano began to work on new material; earlier results were recorded on a 3-track promo CD from 1999. It nicely retraces the evolution of the band leading them to a more Swedish oriented Melodic Death/Thrash style. The promo caught the attention of Alex Vicini (Warlord Records), who decided to sign the band, but line-up problems were still an issue. With new drummer Gilles Schembri, "Inner Deathscapes" was written and then recorded at The Outer Sound Studios in Rome. By way of bonus for the LP version, the 4 guys chose to include their own version of the Kiss classic "Love Gun". After the recording sessions, bass player Mauro Diciocia joined the four to complete the line-up and work on some new songs. Late 2001, Roberto Cufaro left the band for personal reasons and because of a divergent opinion on the band's new style. Around that same period the four-piece enters The Outer Sound Studios again to record two new tracks for the limited edition 7" "Postmortem Extasies" as well as a cover for the Bulldozer Armageddon 7'' tribute collection. April 2003 sees the band set a new standard in its career with the new album "Nohtingod", which was written with new guitar player Diego D'acunto and recorded again at The Outer Sound Studios. While "Inner Deathscapes" scored some high grades in the heavy composition department, "Nothingod" pushes the pedal to the floor with its 9 thunderbolts (including a cover version of Testament's "Burnt Offerings") full of aggression and intensity. In the summer of 2005, the band started collaborating with Belgian management agency Hardebaran, which has already led to a distribution agreement with Dutch label Two Fat Men. "Nothingod" will be officially released halfway November 2005.
