The band was born in 2001 as a result of the assembly of Mysteria (guitar) and Anzwer (drums), who were both already playing together for some time, with Cerimor (vocals). The trio started to look for a bass-player to complete the group, all the while working on the composition of their own songs. Early 2002, the first demo "Epoca" was recorded at the Direct Sound studios in Città di Castello, where the first two songs ("Destruction" and "Insensibility (of the Human Nature)") were produced. Thanks to this work, Maledicta had the opportunity to gain recognition as a live band - outside their home town of Perugia - by playing in Bologna for the "Emergenza Rock" competition and at "Snowjam 02" in Terminillo. Near the end of 2002, the band replaced their previous bass-player with Synasius. A little while later, it was time again to return to the studio to record the "Dark Emersion" demo that truly launched the band as a rightful part of the Italian underground. As a result of the excellent press feedback, Maledicta were able to book many more live dates around Italy. Owing to their increasing stamina, the desire rose to add a new dimension to the music. Keyboards would complete the band's very own sound. From that moment on, Maledicta - which had swiftly become a quintet - started to compose songs that possessed a more mature and articulated makeup. The result was that, in February 2003, the band felt comfortable enough to record their first full-length CD "Eruption From Insides". This important turning point in Maledicta's career has been produced in five months and contains nine songs, of which three first appeared on the precedent demo but were rerecorded and rearranged for the occasion. In the beginning of 2006, the band decided to take it one step further by joining forces with Hardebaran Management who will promote and market the album as from mid-April 2006.
