BIOGRAPHY:

Everything started in the late 90's, with a sound influenced by bands like Faith No More and Soundgarden and some touring in the upper half of Italy. It's in 1997 that Vitto, the new singer, was found. After some work on sound and ideas, a first demo got released in 1999: "Hook My Neurons". Late 2000 it was time for the next step: Kiju contacted the outstanding Fear recording studios in Alfonsine (Ravenna). In the first half of 2001 the band scheduled the recording sessions of "Nothing To Play For". This debut album was to be a mix of Sepultura and Machinehead's musical violence and Fear Factory's wall of technological sound. Then it was time to find a good deal with a label. This was the worst period in the band's existence; there were a lot of offers but most were simply unsuitable to say the least. The band decided to let off some steam by playing on a lot of stages in the clubs of Tuscany and on the Italian east coast. By the fall of 2002 a proper partner was finally found to release Kiju's debut: the long-standing Slovak label MetalAge Productions. The album was one of the highlights in its genre, said many European reviewers... and American and Canadian magazines soon followed with equally encouraging results. In 2003, Kiju continued their show schedule and started playing abroad (Slovakia, Hungary, Switzerland, Austria, Belgium, Holland and Germany). Meanwhile, the foundations for a second album were being laid. Late 2004 saw Kiju in the studio, again at Fear Studios, where "Demo(n)cracy" got canned. This album is much more Hardcore, much more "in your face" than the previous one; its groove is fatter and vocals are even more powerful. In the frame of the album promotion, Kiju was featured on a festival organized by www.epg.sk, on the main stage and alongside bands like Destruction, Labyrinth and Freedom Call. The first half of 2005 was still all about spreading "Demo(n)cracy" around Europe and this plan worked out quite successfully in venues and on festivals as well as during a series of spring support dates for Stuck Mojo. For the official release of the new album, Kiju has chosen to be represented by their Belgian management Hardebaran, with which bonds exist since 2003. Hardebaran's own promotion department will take care of the promotional campaign and, in a first stage, Dutch distributor Two Fat Men will be in charge of the release in the Benelux and in France (through Acropole Records) halfway November 2005.
