This Italian Schizo Death Metal quintet originally started its career in 1996 under the name of Necronomicon. After the release of their first demo "Under The Gothic Cathedral" that same year - and for obvious reasons - a new moniker was sought and found. Infernal Poetry was born. This choice was immediately celebrated with the recording of a second demo named "In The Sign Of The Evil Creature" in 1997. 1998 saw the release of yet another demo that was mainly released for promotional purposes. The band's fruitful labor resulted in a first European tour supporting Impiety and Rotting Christ in the fall of 2000. Soon thereafter (in March 2001) the first deal was sealed with Fuel Records, thus unleashing "Not Light But Rather Visible Darkness" in January 2002. That year proved to be very active for Infernal Poetry. Starting with the band's first official Italian tour involving 20 gigs all over Italy, then shooting their first video clip, Infernal Poetry also won that year's Music In Progress Metal contest out of 100 Italian Metal bands; they also took home the prize for "best voice" of the festival. In January 2003, the second release was up: the split CD "Twice" with Dark Lunacy, again on Fuel Records. A year and a half and a multitude of gigs (with Destruction, Behemoth, Rotting Christ, Anorexia Nervosa, Vicious Rumours, Impiety, Dismember ) all over Europe later, the band was ready for their third release on Fuel Records. "Beholding The Unpure" was ready in January 2005 and in June of this year a video clip was canned for the song "Crawl". Currently, Infernal Poetry is still touring to promote the album, which will be released in the Benelux by Two Fat Men. The band is actively supported by its Belgian management Hardebaran for all matters pertaining to promotion and marketing. |
