CORROSIF biography Corrosif (formerly known as Pride) was founded in 1995 by four youngsters from around Sierre in Switzerland. The actual name change occurred after a line-up change and the keen observation that a Metal band needs a more appropriate moniker. In May 1996 the band recorded its first demo, shortly after which a more or less stable line-up was achieved in order to set off and get to know each other's ways … all this, of course, to obtain a homogenous sound and composing process. Less than a year later, they were ready to perform live and the public's response was extraordinary right from the start. Like any developing matter, Corrosif's line-up remained in constant evolution, which resulted in the recording of their second demo in July 1998. But the virus was in their blood and soon they decided to record a new four-track album in a weightier studio. The chosen place: BBM studios in Lausanne. Totor, bassist of Hare, produced them there and that's how "Skeleton Kit" was born. Nature followed its course and a load of concerts was followed by the canning of Corrosif's first "real" album in September 2002, again featuring Totor behind the BBM Studios console. The album was only spread in Switzerland. Today, the sextet is ready as ever to spread the disease worldwide aided by their brand new album "Join Us". The ten songs on this neat looking triptych digipack overwhelm you with their powerful yet refined sound. Violent, at times even distressing moods alternate with more atmospheric parts and the Metal shapeshifts to merge into a landscape of heaviness, intensity and melody. Corrosif is currently composing a new album.
